In providing patient care, Katie is passionate about finding the best, most creative approach for each individual. With training and experience in residential treatment, in-home therapy, and school settings, Katie specializes in working with children and families who have experienced difficult circumstances, with a focus in trauma, attachment, anxiety, developmental concerns, and social-emotional support. Katie brings empathy, warmth, and energy to help children, teens, and adults feel seen and valued. Through use of age-appropriate techniques like play, mindfulness, art, and coping skill development, she will work together with you to create a comfortable, safe place to help you grow in your journey.
Katie completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology at the College of St. Benedict in St. Joseph, Minnesota and went on to graduate with a Masters in Social Work degree from Augsburg University in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Katie is a Licensed Master of Social Work and is an accredited Triple P (Positive Parenting Program) provider. She has also attended numerous trainings on the use of play and intends to pursue play therapy credentialing in the near future.
In her spare time, Katie enjoys reading, yoga, shopping, and learning. As someone new to Arizona as of mid-2020, Katie is thrilled to tap into her adventurous side to explore new sights and amazing coffee shops without having to shovel any snow!
