Dr. Prado completed his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Northern Arizona University, along with a graduate certificate in Nursing Rural Telehealth and a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from the University of Arizona. His doctoral research focused on “Smoking education and treatment considerations to improve psychiatric provider knowledge” leading him to earn the “Outstanding DNP Project” recognition/honor #1/74 upon graduation. He is board certified both as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (across lifespan) and a board certified-TeleMental Health psychiatric provider.
He previously taught at Grand Canyon University, as a Clinical Adjunct Professor, in the Psychiatric Mental Health College of Nursing and Health Care Professions program. His approach to mental health involves understanding the person as a combination of biological, psychological, and social health. He is very interested in not only helping reduce symptoms, but also focusing on improving wellness. His vision is to promote recovery and improve the quality of life for the mental health population while optimizing and upholding excellence in his delivery of care.
