Erika is originally from Texas, where she discovered her love for the medical field. Her Tex-Mex roots enable her to be serve multiple cultural backgrounds and continue to learn and evolve with the healthcare community.
After being a nurse for seven years, Erika decided to further her career and received her Bachelor’s in Nursing at Grand Canyon University. She continued her studies and went on to receive her Master’s degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner at the University of Phoenix. After being in Family Medicine for four years, she saw the huge need for mental health services, and decided that she would return back to school to specialize in Mental Health. She returned to school and attended the University of Cincinnati where she earned her degree as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She is now dual certified in the Family and Psychiatric Mental Health services through the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and American Nurses Credentialing Center.
Erika is also a proud Captain in the Air Force and has done one deployment tour to Qatar. She enjoys spending time with her family on the weekends. She is excited to be part of the integrated healthcare system that denova has to offer to the community!
