Erica Harris, LPC, BC-TMH

Licensed Professional Counselor, Advanced Trauma Specialty Team Director

Erica Harris graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Old Dominion University. She received her Master’s in Counseling from Grand Canyon University in 2014. Erica completed her clinical internship at North County Lifeline in Vista, CA working with children ages 5-18 years old. Erica also has experience as an Autism behavioral therapist at Autism Spectrum Consultants in Southern California. Additionally, Erica is a certified yoga teacher of 200 hours teaching in Ithaca, New York, and Southern California.  Erica started her career in counseling at Jewish Family and Children Service for 5 years specializing in birth to five-year old’s, working with children until 18 years old with a variety of challenges, foster youth, adoption, developmentally delayed, Autism, and complex trauma.

Erica first started with denova in August 2020 providing individual and family therapy to children and adults. She is currently licensed in the State of Arizona as a Licensed Professional Counselor. Erica is also a certified telehealth provider, Trauma focused CBT practitioner, Triple P Parenting Certified, and Certified Trauma Professional. Additionally, Erica is an esteemed is a specialist on the Advanced Trauma specialty Team. As a counselor, Erica has provided group therapy through Adulting101 group for young adults to learn life skills as well as a children’s group to overcome challenges collaboratively using the popular virtual game Minecraft. Erica considers herself a Geek therapist competent in fandoms, video games, and Geek culture. Erica is also skilled in providing therapy to LGBTQ population and complex trauma due to racial trauma. Erica’s style of counseling could be described as “meeting people where they are at” using a combination of CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), DBT (Dialectical behavior therapy), and using client’s unique interests in a therapeutic manner through various experiential activities and conceptualization.

In Erica’s free time, Erica likes to relax by listening to music, playing video games, reading, cooking with friends, and spending time with family and pets.
