Movember: An Appointment Men Shouldn’t Skip

Movember isn’t just about mustaches. It’s a reminder that men often delay the healthcare they need, and that a single, simple step—the annual primary care visit—can change outcomes.

The data is sobering. According to the Movember Institute of Men’s Health 2025 U.S. Report, more than half of male deaths occur before age 75. Many men delay seeking help after symptoms begin; a significant share wait weeks or even months. The report also estimates that men’s poor health costs the country over $400 billion each year, most of it preventable.

Perhaps the most telling statistic: only about one in five men say a clinician always asks about the personal or social issues that shape their health. In other words, we are missing conversations that matter.
