Arizona State University’s College of Nursing and Healthcare Innovation Names Russell Horning 2018 Preceptor of the Year

 

Russell Horning, RN, PMHNP, was recently named the 2018 Preceptor of the Year by Arizona State University’s College of Nursing and Healthcare Innovation. The award recognizes outstanding mentors who contribute to the learning of ASU’s nurse practitioner students. Horning currently precepts six students and has served on ASU’s adjunct faculty for the past five years where he further supports students in the College of Nursing and Healthcare Innovation. Horning is committed to helping prepare the next generation of psychiatric mental health nurse practitioners.

At denova, Horning is responsible for developing streamlined, integrated, and appropriate access to care procedures for patients in need of psychiatric care. This involves development and support from the entire behavioral health team, primary care team, and patient services operations team. He is also responsible for the day to day leadership, utilization, and administrative oversight for the entire psychiatric program at denova Healthcare.
