POSITION SUMMARY

The Accounting & Finance Director will oversee accounting and finance matters for the company. This includes oversight of payroll, accounts payable and receivable, budgeting, production of financial statements and reports. The Accounting & Finance Director is also responsible for the annual audit and maintaining internal controls, while overseeing financial systems and related compliance requirements. The Accounting & Finance Director must have proven experience leading a high performing team as well as the capacity to set and deliver outcomes in a fast-paced environment.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead, manage and direct the accounting and finance teams
  • Responsible for the overall accuracy of the internal financial data and external financial statements
  • Provide the executive team with weekly monthly and ad-hoc reports as requested to facilitate the management of the company
  • Manage and drive the month end and year-end financial close processes
  • Develop and update budgets and forecasts for the company and its departments
  • Responsible for analyzing variances from budget and forecast and reporting such to executive team
  • Establish and maintain internal controls to
    • safeguard assets of the company,
    • ensure the accuracy and reliability of accounting records and information,
    • promote efficiency in the company’s operations, and
    • measure compliance with management’s prescribed policies and procedures

QUALIFICATIONS

Education, Certification, and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or Finance, Master’s degree preferred
  • Five to seven years of accounting or finance experience
  • CPA certification preferred
  • Three to five years management experience to include building a successful team, building a talent pipeline, employee coaching & counseling and employee development skills
  • Ability to communicate succinctly & compellingly both verbally and in writing
  • Strong analytical/conceptual thinking skills
  • Must be flexible, able to manage multiple priorities and able to shift resources and priorities as required
  • Knowledge of accounting, forecasting, budgeting, cost analysis, and financial modeling
  • Working knowledge of audits, and other regulatory requirements

Physical Working Conditions and Office Setting Description

  • Some travel required to field locations to facilitate execution of responsibilities. Must provide proof of a valid driver’s license, valid auto insurance with, at minimum, state required insurance levels.
  • Requires prolonged sitting, standing, frequent bending, stooping, or stretching.
  • Some lifting may be required.
  • Frequent and prolonged typing and frequent and prolonged operation of computer, keyboard, and telephones required.
  • Requires occasional use of fax machines, telephones, copiers, and other office equipment.
  • Employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and or move up to 50 pounds.
