¹ Extend Annual Updates: You can extend your Annual Updates if you purchased JExpress in the last 12 months or you purchased the Annual Updates in the last 18 months. Otherwise, you must purchase the Renew Annual Updates.

² Renew Annual Updates You must renew your Annual Updates if you purchased JExpress more than 12 months ago, or if you purchased the Annual Updates more than 18 months ago.

In other words, if it is October 2009 and you purchased JExpress in October 2008 or later, then you can Extend your updates. But if you purchased in September 2008 or earlier, then you must Renew your annual updates.

Again if it is October 2009 and you purchased your last Annual Updates in March 2008, then you must Renew the annual updates. If you bought your Updates in April 2008 or later, you can Extend them.
