JExpress created a double-clickable exe during its installation. If you're having any trouble starting JExpress, then modify the properties file in the JExpress subdirectory (i.e., JExpress.properties) you're trying to launch to use jre.exe/java.exe instead of jrew.exe/javaw.exe. You can also create diagnostic log called startapp.log in the JExpress directory to see what's happening behind the scenes.
