Tutorial 3 / Part 14
Adding Menus and Launch Scripts

To create a menu for a non-Java application...

  1. On the Menus panel, next to the Menu items list box click: Add button.
  2. A new dialog box opens called Menu Item.
    • In the Menu item field enter: the name that you want to appear as the Windows menu and desktop, Mac desktop and KDE menu.
Leave this field blank if you don't a menu or desktop icon on the various platforms.
    • In the Short name field fill in: a name for the Unix launch script.
Leave this field blank if you don't want a launch script under Unix.

Important note: It is unlikely that if you have a non-Java app, you'll be able to run it on multiple platforms. Therefore, leave either the Menu item name field or the Script name field blank so your installer only creates a start up procedure for the platform.

Keep the Menu Item dialog box open, then click Next.
